Brother Jacques
Jacques is a teacher who we know little about, but he knows that Leon is up to no good. Jacques try's to stop Leon abusing school funds, but is to scared to raise out of the shadows. Brother Jacques is smart he helps Archie with an assignment just so he can get at the kids. Even though he's helping the Vigils. He is one of the only respectable characters.
Brother Leon
Leon is known as the antagonist of the entire novel. His evil ways come to make the reader learn to despise him. Leon gains his power by have being one of the head masters stooges; it all pays off for Leon when the head master falls ill, and Leon replaces his position. Having the highest power in Trinity, Leon abuses his power over and over again both in the chocolate sale, and the way he handles issues with students and their grades.
Brother Eugene
Brother Eugene is a very shy man and when he is involved in a vigil assignment it drives him over the line. He is an example of the The Vigils' cruelty.
