 Summary
The Vigils are a group of boys at Trinity High School that have a great amount of control over everyone at Trinity. They control the teachers, the students, and the governing of the school.
Archie Costello is the leader of the Vigils. He is the Assigner, he decides the assignments and to who they are to be assined. His only enemy is the Black Box. This box determines if the assignment should be completed by the person assigned or the Assigner.
Carter is the President of the Vigils. He really has little power he is there to make sure that the Assigner doesn't have any problems. The President like Carter is usually a senior football player.
Obie is the Secretary. He keeps track of all of the assignments and all of the students in the school. He has better records of the students at Trinity than the office does.
The Vigils are a high class of guys at Trinity. Because of thier power they have no trouble with getting people to do what they want. It's almost an honor to be choosen for an assignment.
